Incidents and Offense Reports:

To request a copy of a report or other police record, you may fill out the form below, follow the link to an Open Records Request, or write a written request to our records department at pdrecords@cityofslaton.com. You must provide the date, location, and person(s) involved in the request. Please do not contact the department by phone with your requests; only written requests will be accepted. You may also visit the police department to complete an Open Records Request. You must fill out an Open Records Request or submit a written request and allow 10 business days to complete your request.

Copies of police reports can be obtained Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at:

What is the cost for a police report?
Incident and Offense reports are available for $0.10 per page. Cash only.

Are police reports available over the Internet?
Incident and Offense reports are not available over the Internet at this time. You will need to download and fill out the Open Records Request Form and bring it to the station, mail it or email it to pdrecords@cityofslaton.com. Please allow 10 business days for your request to be filled.

If you wish to obtain a copy of the requested information you may be required to pay $.10 per page for the standard paper copies.
Information copied onto non-standard size paper, CD’s, flash drives, and photographs will require additional charges. I also agree to pay for costs of photocopying, duplication, the labor costs involved in retrieving information that is not readily available or in need of redacting, and cost of mailing. Accident reports will be required to pay $6. You may request a copy of an Accident report online at:

I further understand that the information will be released only in accordance with the Public Information Act, which may require determination as to confidentiality by the Texas Attorney General prior to release. I further understand that the Slaton Police Department has 10 BUSINESS DAYS in which to request such determination.
